A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I BROUGHT THIS UP TO YOU SAYING, I HOPE YOU ARE AS YOU ARE SENDING OUT INFORMATION TO TOURISTS TO PLEASE COME HERE AND STAY AT MAYBE THE OLD GIRL SCOUT CAMP. THE CAMP WHERE THEY WANT YOU TO STAY OVERNIGHT FOR A WEEK AND WHATEVER. OF COURSE NOTHING I SAW SAID ANYTHING ABOUT IT . TO ME, ANYONE PLANNING ON COMING TO THIS COUNTY AND STAYING FOR A WEEK WHO IS AN ADDICTED SMOKER -- AND I'M SURE AT LEAST A COUPLE IN HERE USED TO SMOKE AND YOU MANAGED TO QUIT -- THERE ARE FEW WHO CAN'T. WHEN I SPOKE THERE WHEN THEY WERE HAVING THE PROPOSED ORDINANCES FIRST SECOND READING, I WAS THERE . WHEN THEY DID IT, THEY DID IT BY VOTING TO NOT READ THE DETAIL . GO BY TITLE ONLY. SO FAR FOR 2025 WE HAVE 12 NEW EVENTS SCHEDULED. NOT ALL OF THEM ARE ASKING FOR GRANTS. THERE ARE NEW EVENTS COMING TO CLAY COUNTY . WE HAVE SOME GREAT NEW MARKETING TACTICS, WHAT YOU HEARD IN BOTH PRESENTATIONS. ARTS AND CULTURE INITIATIVES . AGAIN, THERE IS MARKETING GOING WITH THAT. COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT. WE HAVE LONG-TERM . THE TOURISM PROMOTION IS GOING TO BE OUR DIFFERENT SOCIAL MEDIA PUSHES . OUR LEISURE CAMPAIGN. OUR LOCAL CAMPAIGN. THOSE ARE IN OUR TOURISM PRESENTATION. WE ARE WORKING ON THE VISITOR CENTER. I JUST DID A LITTLE MATH AND EVERYTHING ON THAT IF INSTEAD OF CAPPING IT AT THE 100 ROOM NIGHTS IF WE TOOK IT TO 250 ROOM NIGHTS AND USED THE $50 PER ROOM NIGHT MEASURING , IT STILL GIVES US A MEASURABLE LIMIT FOR HOW TO GROW THAT. THEN IT ALSO PROTECTS US IN THE OTHER EXAMPLE WHERE WE HAD IT SCORE 30 -- AND IT ONLY DIDN'T MAKE IT BECAUSE IT DID NOT MEET THE ROOM NIGHT REQUIREMENT THAT WE HAD.
