WHEN WE LOOK AT THE PRIMARY RESPONSE TO THESE WE HAVE THREE MAIN THINGS THAT WE DID. WE WRITE APPLICATIONS, WE SECURE NEW GRANT AWARDS. WE MANAGE CONTRACTS COMPLIANCE AND REIMBURSEMENT OF REVENUE TO ENSURE THAT ANY OBLIGATIONS TO BECOME ACTUALLY DO COME BACK AS REVENUE. SO LOOKING AT APPLICATIONS, SORRY, WE CAN GO BACK. APPLICATIONS WE SUBMITTED 36 LAST YEAR OF THOSE 12 WERE STILL UNDER REVIEW. 12 WERE FUNDED, 12 OR UNFUNDED, THAT PUTS US CURRENTLY AT A 50 PERCENT SUCCESS RATE WITH APPLICATIONS. LAST YEAR, APPLICATIONS RESULTED IN $13 MILLION IN FUNDING THIS YEAR THEY RESULTED IN 19.7 MILLION THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE 4 AND A HALF ADDITIONAL MILLION THAT WE ARE STILL WORKING ON THE STATE THIS IS THE RESULT OF OUR APPROPRIATION REQUEST FROM LAST YEAR. AS WE EXPECT TO SEE VERY SHORTLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE SON APPLICATION WE SUBMITTED LAST YEAR WE NOTICED AT DOT JUST PLAN TO ISSUE THAT AWARD FOR THE COUNTY FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE TRAIL EXPANSION. LOOKING AT THE COMPLIANCE FIGURE THERE THAT 6.1 MILLION THAT'S A DIRECT RESULT OF THOSE MONTHLY REPORTS, REIMBURSEMENT REQUESTS, THAT OUR COMPLIANCE TEAM DOES FOR US. LAST YEAR, IN TOTAL WE MANAGE CONTRACTS OF 84 MILLION THIS YEAR WE ARE AT 94 WITH THE ADDITION OF THAT THE TRAILS WILL BE WELL OVER 100 MILLION FOR FY 24. SO NOW WE CAN GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. RETURN ON INVESTMENT THIS IS REALLY THE BOTTOM LINE. LAST YEAR, TOTAL COST OF THE COUNTY FOR OPERATIONS OF THE GRANTS DIVISION WHICH WAS UNDER HALF $1 MILLION AND THEN THERE IS OUR REVENUE FOR LAST YEAR THAT IS A CULMINATION OF THOSE NEW AWARDS AND THAT REIMBURSEMENT REVENUE THAT WE RECEIVED FROM THE CONTRACTS. THAT PUTS US AT 861 TO 1 TOTAL ROI $61 FOR EVERY DOLLAR INVESTED BACK INTO OPERATIONS FOR THE DEPARTMENT. ONE NOTE OPEN ON THE COST TO THE COUNTY AS WELL WE NEED ARE GRANT AGREEMENTS TO ALLOW US TO RECOUP ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS SO THAT COST IS ACTUALLY PROBABLY MUCH LOWER DEPENDING ON HOW THAT GETS DISTRIBUTED OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR. SO LOOKING TO FY 24 OUR MAIN GOAL IS IN JANUARY TO ALIGN GRANTS THE LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES AND STRATEGIC PLAN PRIORITIES. I THINK WERE STARTING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE WE ARE SUCCESSFUL YEAR-OVER-YEAR FEELING THESE GRANT PROGRAMS BUT THE CAPITAL EXPENDITURES REQUESTS WE WANT TO ALIGN STRATEGIC PLAN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. WE KNOW FROM WORKING WITH GRANTORS IN THE PAST THEY LOVE STRATEGIC PROJECTS BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN APPROVED AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ORGANIZATION, THEY ARE BUDGETED, THEY HAVE COMMUNITY INPUT AND IS THERE SHOVEL READY RIGHT NOW THEY KNOW THE TIME DELIVERABLE IS ATTACHED TO THAT. AND THAT'S NOT THE CASE BECAUSE THE WARRANTY PROCESS IS A LONG ARDUOUS PROCESS.
