TWELVE OF THEM WERE MOM'S. ELEVEN OF THEM WERE PUPPIES THAT WERE BORN THAT DAY AND ONE HAD A MEDICAL CONDITION THAT DID NOT ALLOW THEM TO BE ADOPTED SO THAT LEFT US 80 ADOPTABLE DOGS FROM THE SEIZURE. WE ADDED 12 SHELTER DOGS TO THE EVENT FOR A TOTAL OF 92 ADOPTABLE DOGS THE WEEKEND OF THE ADOPTION EVENT.
ALL WERE ADOPTED THAT SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. FOR THE PIGS, WE HAD A TOTAL OF 29 PIGS THAT WERE BROUGHT IN, WE ONLY HAD EIGHT OF THEM THAT WERE ACTUALLY ADOPTED.
WE HAD 21 LEFT WE WORKED WITH OUR RESCUE PARTNERS, AND ALL 21 OF THOSE WERE ADOPTED BY THAT WEDNESDAY AFTER THE ADOPTION EVENT. ONE 100% OF THOSE.
BUT GOATS WILL HAVE SOME FUNNY NUMBERS. WE ORIGINALLY INSERT SEVEN OF THEM. ONE OF THEM DESPITE OUR BEST EFFORTS HAD TO END UP BEING EUTHANIZED DUE TO A MEDICAL CONDITION WHICH LEFT US WITH SIX.

THEN WE HAD SIX PIGEONS AND I WILL SIX PIGEONS WERE ADOPTED THAT WE CAN ALSO.
I JUST WANTED TO SAY YOUR TEAM DID A PHENOMENAL JOB. WE HAD VARIOUS AGENCIES, THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE, PARKS AND REC., MANY WHO CAME IN FOR THIS, ABOVE AND BEYOND A NORMAL EVENT AND I THINK THE TEAM DID A PHENOMENAL JOB. EVERYONE EXCEPT THE ONE GOATS

WHEREAS MANY OLDER YOUTHS LIVING IN FOSTER CARE HAVE A DIFFICULTY FINDING A FOREVER FAMILY AND FEEL THEY MAY BE TOO OLD TO BE ADOPTED YET THEY WANT TO HAVE A SENSE OF BELONGING THAT ADOPTIVE PARENTS CAN PROVIDE. HAVE FOLLOWED BEFORE THIS IS WHERE THE BOARD SELECTS LEADERSHIP FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR. THE BOARD WILL BE VOTING ON A CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR.AND MAKING SURE WE HANDLE TODAY'S SELECTION. WHAT WE HAVE DONE WE OPEN THE
FLOOR FOR NOMINATIONS AND I WILL ASK FOR. >> WITH ONE PERSON BEING NOMINATED THAT PERSON BECOMES CHAIR BY ACCLAMATION WE HAVE SEVERAL WE WILL VOTE ON EACH ONE SEPARATELY IN THE ROLL CALL VOTE. THEN WE WILL REPEAT THE PROCESS FOR VICE CHAIR. THE CURRENT CHAIR WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THIS MEETING AND THE NEW CHAIR WILL TAKE OVER THEIR ROLES ON DECEMBER 14 AT OUR NEXT MEETING.

RECENTLY HAD SOME TRYING TIMES LOOKING BACK AT THE THINGS WE HAVE GONE THROUGH.
WE HAD SOME BIG FIELDS ON BIG ISSUES. THEY WILL POSITIVELY IMPACT THE COUNTY AND RESIDENCE, DESPITE THOSE BOATS AND THE CONTENTIOUSNESS OF THE DEBATE, THE BOARD AS MAINTAINED A WILLINGNESS TO WORK TOGETHER AND IMPROVE THE COUNTY.
I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT ISSUES TO MOVE US FORWARD. NO ONE DWELLING ON A PARTICULAR ISSUE. I HOPE THAT CONTINUES AND I'M SURE IT WILL.
BEING THE BCC CHAIRMAN IS A PRIVILEGE AND AN HONOR SOMETHING I DON'T TAKE LIGHTLY.
BUT IT IS NOT A ONE-PERSON CHILD. I HAVE TO THANK THE COUNTY MANAGER, OUR ASSISTANT COUNTY MANAGERS AS WELL AS THE COUNTY ATTORNEY FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT. AND THE REST OF THE STAFF FOR THEIR HARD WORK ON BEHALF OF THE TAXPAYERS. THEY ARE GREAT AT DOING WHAT THEY DO AND GIVING THE THINGS WE MAKE DURING THE YEAR. NO EXCEPTIONS TONIGHT.
